This position performs the accounting functions of the agency. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for all receivables and payables, month-end processes, Epic support (entry of carriers, vendors, and brokers), and ensuring completion of all tasks in a timely manner and to the HealthSure quality standards. They may also be tasked with developing new accounting procedures and policies.

  • Agency contact for payroll and audits payroll checklist every two weeks
  • Bank reconcilations
  • Bi-Weekly payroll and benefit entries in Epic
  • Reconciles and enters all direct bill imports
  • Manages all receivables and payables
  • Maintains expense dashbaords
  • Monthly Producer and Account Executive production statements
  • Monthly reconciliation and entry of corporate credit cards
  • Reconcile profit centers each month (MCDC, CHIC Program, Leaf Health, Virgin Pulse)
  • Reconcile End of Month reports (Aged AR, Expiration Lists, Exclusion Reports)
  • Complete quarterly staff bonus sheets and annual compensation sheets
  • Complete HealthSure's annual Workers' Compensation audit
  • Enters annual budget into management system
  • Documents and follows accounting procedures and controls in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures utilizing the agency's MIS system, Applied Systems™
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • 10 years of accounting experience
  • 4 years of agency account experience
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, detail orientation
  • Above average analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • The desire and willingness to continue to grow and learn
  • Integrity, drive, ambition and a positive attitude
