Role Summary
As part of its ongoing development and growth, Empowered is looking to add a permanent, part-time Purchase Ledger Clerk/Bookkeeper to join its friendly, efficient finance team. The role will be based at the Empowered office in the heart of Dunstable with dedicated free parking and easy access to public transport, with the ability to work remotely by negotiation.
Key Responsibilities
* Input and process all approved invoices, ensuring that they are all in the correct name and have a VAT registration number where appropriate.
* Generate Purchase Orders upon request from the Project Management team.
* Ensure that all invoices requiring additional approval are signed off correctly.
* Ensure all purchase invoices are accurately logged and paid in a timely manner.
* Respond to queries from suppliers and ensuring that all supplier records are kept up to date.
* Reconcile supplier statements.
* Produce and review creditors reports and account balances reports.
* Assist the Finance team where required, during busy periods / holiday.
Essential Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will bring a background in accountancy, strong all round administration skills and a naturally proactive approach to their work, with at least 3 years’ experience. Essential skills include:
* Bookkeeping.
* Purchase Order creation and Purchase Invoice processing for both materials and services.
* Managing petty cash.
* Processing staff expenses.
* Communicating with externals vendors and suppliers.
* Communicating with internal staff and colleagues.
* Accurate data entry.
* Compiling company reports.
* An analytical mind with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong collaboration skills and working effectively in a team.
* Working to tight deadlines.
* Going the extra mile/self-motivated.
* Able to work independently to a high level of accuracy.
* Confident in Sage Line50 and MS Excel.
* Demonstrates professional curiosity to investigate and resolve discrepancies and develop business efficiencies.
* Has confident interpersonal, telephone and email communication skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in Salesforce.

Salary will be dependent on skills and experience. Please indicate your current salary level in your application. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the company’s automatic enrolment pension scheme.
Flexible working during core office hours - must include Fridays.
We offer 25 pro rata days per annum annual leave, 1 day’s extra annual leave for your birthday plus bank holidays.
