Brief about Business

The Risk division is responsible throughout the Group for management and control of all credit, market and operational risks, and the function of the Risk division consists of managing, reinforcing and protecting the Bank's capital, integrity and reputation by making a solid structure and supportive infrastructure available.

Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) is responsible for determining the regulatory and economic capital for operational risks. In addition, the department supports Management risk decisions by preparing analyses and reports, validates the approaches and methods used in the OR division (in quantitative and qualitative terms) and verifies business inputs through quality assurance.

The NFRM Team supports operations and drive changes for activities conducted in conjunction with Divisional Control Officers/ Infrastructure Control Officers, Risk Managers and other teams connected to NFR throughout the Bank. This will require the candidate to build strong working relationships with people within the business functions and within the greater NFR team, to consistently complete normal activities/operations and thrive in a changing environment.

Your key responsibilities

  • Creation and Analysis of weekly, monthly and quarterly OR loss reporting in the format of Excel and PowerPoint (loss reports in divisional, regional and country levels)
  • Quality control of delivered data in accordance with set criteria and according to set timelines (e.g. ORM reporting production plan)
  • Initiation of and cooperation in improving existing processes, e.g.: via Access, VBA and workflows as well as independent implementation of new processes
  • Coordinate and respond to enquiries from business divisions and operational risk managers
  • Ensure uniform communication towards business divisions on results of quality control performed (email and phone communication)
  • Regular attendance of scheduled meetings and telephone conferences, e.g. presentation of work results to senior decision-makers/workgroups, partly also participation of meetings and telephone conferences (preparation of meeting decks and taking minutes)
  • Support on ad-hoc requests from the businesses in accordance with predefined criteria: extraction of data via ODBC and Access database, preparation of datasets via pivot table and in form of PowerPoint
  • Cooperation regarding enquiries from auditors and regulators
  • Establish an escalation management process


Your skills and experience

  • Post Graduate degree preferably in banking, finance, economics or Business Administration
  • Experience with managing deadlines & ensuring adherence to regulatory / audit requirements
  • Experience in Risk Management and Risk Controlling preferable
  • More than three years of professional work experience


Competencies:
  • Willingness to learn and acquire deep subject-matter knowledge of ORM processes
  • Knowledge of finance sector issues/ products preferable
  • Ability to handle various datasets and creation and analysis of reports in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prepare, participate/lead and document discussions & build relationships with multiple stakeholders (Business and Risk)
  • Able to work as part of an international team with the ability to work independently
  • Good communication and project management skills
  • Excellent in MS Office (including Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word knowledge) other IT skillsets like VBA, are preferred
  • Very good eye for detail, numerically literate and accurate with numbers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
