Brook Street Recruit is working on behalf of our Belfast client who is currently recruitment for an Investment Analyst.

This role will support the UK Investment Team`s delivery of the company`s proposition across client portfolios and achievement of its financial and operational goals and targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provision of non-regulated support in the active management of company discretionary and advisory portfolios on a day-to-day basis.
  • Implement transnational activity whilst adhering to central processes and firm policy and guidance.
  • Preparation of portfolio model performance and attribution results, including bespoke performance reporting for clients.
  • Monitoring of corporate actions, cash balances, and other regulatory reports
  • Implementations of various regulatory reporting requirements and the provision of a range of system driven MI for management.
  • Support ad-hoc project work, including CIP conversions and platform development or migration.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the company Investment Processes and Policies
  • Ensure all activities carried out in the role are compliant with company policies, procedures and FCA regulations.
  • Upon attainment of company certification of fit and proper, to undertake Client Dealing, i.e., taking telephone instructions from execution-only clients.

  • Any other relevant task as required by line manager


Criteria:

  • Finance or Business related Third Level Qualification, Degree or Postgraduate (2.1 or higher)
  • Minimum 6 -12 months business/office experience i.e Industrial placement year
  • A strong client focus, to ensure effective service delivery
  • Proven planning and organizing skills
  • High degree of financial literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • High level of drive and enthusiasm
  • Ability to work under pressure in a performance driven environment
  • Results focused with tenacity to overcome obstacles
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Effective team player
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to network and build internal and external business relationships
  • Prepared to travel on business within and outside Northern Ireland
  • Prepared to travel to clients during and outside normal office hours


Career Progression

Whilst the role is not initially regulatory, to progress within the team, there is an expectation that the Investment Analyst would attain within 12 months of appointment to the role, one of the following qualifications:

Level 4 - Investment Management Certificate (CFA or CISI) or,
Level 4 - (including the unit in Securities)

Attain within 12 months, certification by the company as fit and proper to undertake Client Dealing & Managing Investments functions.

Salary will depend on experience circa £25-28K per annum
