Location: In Office Position in Virginia Beach near Lynnhaven Mall


• Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

• Manage and update employee payroll records.

• Prepare and update employee and payroll reports to management.

• Resolve any payroll discrepancies and reconcile any issues.

• Assist with general ledger reconciliation related to payroll accounts.

• Perform data entry for new hires, terminations, and changes to employee status.

• Prepare journal entries for payroll-related transactions.

• Collaborate with HR department for smooth payroll operations.

• Assist with accounts payable/receivable, as necessary.

• Conduct new employee onboarding by creating and providing documents and tracking timely completion.

• Maintain and update employee HR files.

• Manage monthly credit expenses.

• Oversee the administration and management of employee benefits programs.


• Demonstrate knowledge of payroll processes and procedures

• Proficiency in technical accounting principles related to payroll.

• Familiarity with general ledger accounting and bookkeeping

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a payroll-related role

• Experience working with Gusto and Paylocity preferred.

• Experience managing payroll for multiple entities within one organization highly preferred.

• Working knowledge of wage and hour laws

• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop is desirable.

• Experience as a Tax Preparer is a bonus.
