We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our finance team and help us with various accounting tasks. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and assisting senior accountants with audits and tax compliance. The Junior Accountant will also work with various accounting software and systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Please note that only applicants who currently reside in Cape Town will be considered for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts.
- Processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Supporting senior accountants with internal and external audits and tax filings.
- Maintaining and updating accounting records and documents.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
- Researching and resolving accounting issues and discrepancies.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CRITERIA
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- One year of accounting experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiar with accounting software and systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing business needs.
