An excellent opportunity to join a business based in Malton as a Purchase Ledger Clerk. Salary is between £23,000 and £26,000 (depending on experience), alongside 30 days holiday (including bank holidays), attractive Monday to Friday working hours and further.

The successful individual will work within the wider Finance Team and will be taking ownership of the purchase ledger and bank reconciliation, as well as other duties throughout.

Key responsibilities for the successful Purchase Ledger Clerk will include:
  • Entering Purchase Invoices into the accounting system
  • Coding invoices to nominal codes
  • Adding narratives to every invoice/credit note
  • Scanning invoices onto the accounting system, after processing
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements including statements for 4 sites
  • Responsibility for aged creditors - making sure there is no missing invoices and no unallocated payments
  • Producing a monthly BACS run and paying invoices daily, if required
  • General ad hoc duties

We are keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience in a fast-paced finance role, you may be a Purchase Ledger Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk, Sales Ledger Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk or General Ledger Clerk looking for a new role, or you may be a Finance Assistant or Finance Office, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant looking for your next challenge.

Based in Malton, this role is easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Scarborough, Pickering, Filey, York and further. This role also has free parking on-site, with easy access from the A64 and other main routes. this business is also in walking/cycling distance from the local train station.

To be successful in this Purchase Ledger Clerk role you will ideally have/be:
  • Strong accountancy software skills such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks
  • Previous experience in a similar Ledger Clerk or accountancy based role
  • Team player with strong communication skills and good work ethic
