Title: Financial Reporting Manager, Mutual Funds/Separate Accounts

Location: Hartford County (Hybrid)

Salary: $100,000 to $130,000 +Bonus

Our client, a dynamic financial organization in the Hartford area, is seeking an outgoing, career-minded leadership professional to lead a new financial reporting function focused on separate accounts / mutual fund reporting. This unique financial reporting leadership opportunity will work closely with executive leadership in navigating the growth of the department and the organization and will have a number of opportunities for advancement.

Description:
  • Manage a new reporting function with a focus on separate accounts/mutual fund reporting.
  • Reporting into the Director of Financial Reporting, will lead projects and staff, as well as build a strong working relationship with the key customer(s).
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the financial reporting team to deliver timely and accurate financial data.
  • Meet regulatory reporting and filing deadlines.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and filings.
  • Lead audits as well as build and maintain an effective internal controls environment.
  • Take an active role in process improvement.
  • Support compliance efforts including EDGAR filings.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA or MBA would be a plus
  • Strong knowledge and experience with financial statements.
  • Approximately 5 - 8 years of experience in public accounting/Big 4 and/or the financial services, insurance, or investment industry.
  • Experience with Mutual fund or Separate Account reporting experience highly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and able to manage audits.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders and the customer.
  • Polished professional presence and positive attitude.
  • Effectively build a controls environment.
  • Experience submitting EDGAR filings.
  • Ability to collaborate positively across multiple teams, serve as a go-to business partner.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and leadership/empowerment skills.
