Our client is currently seeking a senior investment accountant to support the SEC and Alternative Asset team. This position will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on limited partnership investments for Company, including exposure to derivative investments. The role includes partnering with finance and investment professionals to understand business needs and strategies, ultimately adding value to the investment decision-making and reporting process. This role will interact with multi-sector portfolio managers, single-sector managers, traders and business/client operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Support and reconcile financial values based upon limited partnership fund capital statements which include net investment income, market values and impairments
  • Prepare the partnership plan/outlook ultimately used to provide earnings guidance, including variance analysis
  • Preparation and analysis of alternative asset disclosures of SEC 10Q/10K filings and quarterly/annual NAIC filings
  • Develop, support, and maintain information delivery related to alternative assets, including presentations for senior management and the quarterly earnings call
  • Interact with portfolio management to understand alternative asset portfolio trends, including accounting impacts of new initiatives
  • Understand complex accounting requirements for equity method accounting and hedge accounting
  • Maintain strong control environment via Sarbanes documentation and continuous monitoring of internal controls


  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, 2+ years of accounting/reporting/finance experience, CPA a plus
  • Basic knowledge of capital markets with a desire to learn investment strategies, although an investment background is not required
  • Proactive individual with well-developed communication, analytical and documentation skills
  • Strong computer skills and desire to learn new applications (Excel, Business Objects, PAFE, WDesk)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
