Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will oversee 2 Accountants. This role has a lot of room for growth, a large scope of exposure across the USA and international markets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience overseeing general accounting function. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities Of The Accounting Manager

  • Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
  • Developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information for the company
  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and reporting variances
  • Ensuring compliance with all accounting regulations and standards, maintaining a high level of accuracy and timely completion of financial records
  • Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Directing internal audits involving the review of accounting and administrative controls
  • Establishing system controls for new financial systems and developing procedures to improve existing systems
  • Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures for the financial department
  • Coordinating and liaising with external auditors for annual auditing and tax preparation
  • Supervising, coaching, and mentoring a team of accountants and other personnel involved in financial reporting, ensuring high levels of accuracy, timely completion of work, and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Prepare and manage key reporting - KPI's - Inventory, COG's, freight, warehousing, turnover, etc.

Qualifications For The Accounting Manager

  • Must come out of manufacturing or similar industry (past or present)
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage staff, set goals, and provide ongoing training and development
  • Experience working with various departments to understand key business initiatives and their financial implications
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance for Accounting Manager is required
