About our team/Mō te tīma

This role is part of the Financial Services Division, providing finance related services across the University. Reporting to the Senior Manager Financial Systems & Projects, you will be working in a newly established team focusing on enhancing financial systems and processes within the University.
The role/Te mahi
In this role, you will contribute to a portfolio of finance related projects, primarily in relation to financial systems and process improvement both to the Financial Services Division and the wider University.

Based in Dunedin, this varied position will have you:

Analysing current accounting and finance systems.
Suggesting changes for improvement.
Contributing to strategic and business planning processes.
Providing FMIS advice, recommendations, and support.
Establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
Collaborating with stakeholders of diverse backgrounds.
Supporting best practice approaches to financial processes.

Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

Tertiary level qualification or recognised qualification(s) appropriate to this role.
Experience providing a range of finance services in a large or complex organisation.
A solid working understanding of accounting principles & processes.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A professional chartered accounting qualification is advantageous but not essential.
We are looking for a highly articulate and collaborative person, who is willing to learn and adapt as required. High levels of energy and enthusiasm will be essential!

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position.
