The Role:

As the Accounts Supervisor you will supporting a small team of accounts assistants that deal with accounts payable and accounts receivable, you will be close to the detail processing daily and monthly accounts, whilst communicating with wider teams across the business unit.

Working closely with the Group FD and looking at overall accounts reports, you will play a key part in positive change and really making a difference in this role!

The Accounts Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the accounts department. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage a team effectively.

More Detail:
  • Lead and manage a team of three direct reports, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure high performance and growth
  • Oversee the Sage 50 accounts to ensure that all payments and invoices are matched correctly with accurate nominal codes
  • Process monthly payroll to ensure that salaries are correct and any expenses or bonuses have been included
  • Prepare and process supplier payment runs and handle communication with suppliers
  • Daily bank reconciliation on Sage 50
  • Managing CIS scheme for Subcontractors and ensuring monthly returns are submitted online
  • Prepare and filing quarterly VAT returns
  • Oversee the maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Month-end reporting, including management reports covering sales and gross profit targets
  • Be the main point of contact on site as part of the Group's annual audit

The Person:

A pro-active communicator keen to make a difference, whilst building positive relationships across the business.

Experience Required:
  • Strong Payroll experience using Sage 50 and Sage Payroll or similar systems
  • Proven experience of working within accounts
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Confidential and trustworthy
  • Working knowledge of VAT schemes, CIS (not essential), and financial reporting
  • QBE, Qualified or part-qualified in a relevant financial discipline
