Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the training of new and current employees on travel policy and completion of in state and out of state travel reimbursement request forms continuously and on a as needed basis. Remain current on changing processes to the travel software and travel policies. Apply subject mater expertise in Travel policies, State of Arizona issued Travel Cards and performing travel audits. Perform payroll duties including training on payroll procedures and properly coding ETE (Electronic Time Entry). Serve as back-up for other payroll duties and payroll project errors that directly correlate with budget related issues in AZ360 (Our Financial Information System). Required to travel annually within the state.

This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (2 days per week in the office/hoteling).

Job Duties:

Applies technical accounting principles to compute over-payments as applies to travel vouchers, paychecks, tuition aid, and payroll deductions. Apply adjustments in HRIS (Human Resource Information System) and AZ360 databases.

As subject matter expert reviews, analyzes and audits travel vouchers for accuracy and completeness.

Review employee records to analyze payment of annual leave, compensatory leave, holiday leave via the HRIS Payroll system.

Performs statewide training to educate employees on travel reimbursement to accurately calculate and code in accordance to State Policies. Train on payroll and leave reporting, incentives and retirement. Accurately complete reimbursement forms, insure payment is compliant and according to policy ensuring time efficiency.

Analyze documents to determine cause of error and provide corrective action to resolve or inhibit budget issues.

Develop and adhere to state policy while developing policy specific to ADOT in accordance with SAAM (State of Arizona Accounting Manual). Maintains travel policies and procedures. Responsible for Travel Reimbursement eForm reporting system.

Compiles data of monthly performance measures for travel related issues. Provides back-up for payroll project charge related performance measures utilized by management for tracking are performance.

Maintains spreadsheets to track and complete accounting adjustments pertaining to payroll, travel and project error budget issues, and possible duplicate entries that may result in overpayment.

Selective Preference(s):

Experience in Travel Reimbursements, Travel Cards, Audit and Payroll. Position will require travel annually within the state to train employees.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Valid state driver's license with an acceptable 39 month driving history.
