As the Senior Partnership Accountant, your primary responsibility is to maintain accurate investor capital and loan accounts for multiple partnerships. This includes ensuring accurate accounting for capital activity, supporting the tax and capital markets teams in their interactions with investors, and performing some investor relations functions.

In this role you also will:

· Maintaining timely and accurate records of investor capital and loans.

· Take the lead on software implementation and maintenance projects, including implementing and maintaining Yardi Investment Accounting and assisting in the implementation of an upgraded investor portal.

· Account for mortgages, investor loans and sponsor loans.

· Liaise with tax department to support the preparation of investor tax projections and K-1s and calculation of tax withholdings from distributions.

· Maintain and reconcile book to tax adjustments in tax ledger.

· Manage investor capital calls and contributions and account for all investor related activity.

· Calculating and processing quarterly and special distributions.

· Develop and maintain historical investor waterfall and IRR forecasts within Yardi Investor Accounting.

· Assist with capital projections and analyses.

· Assist with investor relations functions, which could include fielding investor inquiries, preparation of quarterly investor reporting, managing capital calls, and training investors on use of upgraded portal.

· Work with capital markets team through capital raise process to ensure new issuances are properly accounted for.

· Other duties, as assigned.


· Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance required.

· Minimum 3 years' experience in public accounting or corporate accounting with an understanding of partnership accounting and taxes required.

· Yardi Voyager experience strongly preferred.

· Corporate accounting experience preferred.

· Experience with system implementations preferred.

· Must be able to interpret partnership agreements and to model allocations and investor returns in multi-tiered waterfalls.

· Ability to research prior period accounting entries in order to reconcile and possibly adjust recorded balances.

· Must be able to communicate directly and effectively with investors and team members.

· Must be able to function in an interdisciplinary team.

· Self-motivated, detail oriented and adaptable to change with a positive attitude when resolving issues.

· Heavy focus on automation and leveraging the system to work more efficiently.

· Strong organizational skills and ability to handle competing priorities in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

· Proven ability to demonstrate independent, objective, open-minded thinking to solve problems.

· Excellent team player who works well in a collaborative environment.

· Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information.

· Advanced Excel skills are required.


· Must be able to sit for long periods of time, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours.

· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
