Our Purpose - Ā Mātou Kaupapa
In response to the complex recovery of regions affected by the Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods, Cyclone Hale, and Cyclone Gabrielle, the Cyclone Recovery Unit (the CRU) was stood up in March 2023 and is hosted by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
This role has a dual function in supporting two Executive Directors within the Strategic Policy and Legislation team, and the Planning and Implementation team. These two teams are collaborative and collegial, and the role also assists the wider team with general support functions.

Ko wai koe | About you
The successful candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in the following areas:

Previous experience in providing high quality executive support.
Public sector exposure and a working knowledge of central government decision-making processes.
Excellent planning and organisation including the ability to take the initiative to respond quickly and appropriately where required
Ability to focus on multiple issues, to plan and prioritise in a busy environment, applying sound judgement to competing deadlines, while staying unruffled and maintaining attention to detail.
Well-developed relationship management skills with the ability to manage complex relationships both internally and externally.
A high level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite and other corporate technologies.
To be successful in the role we are looking for hands-on, self starter, agile and responsive to changing conditions, collaborative in style and natural team players.
