About the Company:

Ravensdown is a farmer owned co-operative within the agricultural sector. We exist to help our farmers optimise soil fertility and productivity to run their businesses in a profitable and sustainable way with a focus on lowering environmental impact. Beyond fertiliser, we provide nutrient management services, technical advice and essential farm inputs delivered how, where and when they are needed by our customers.

About the Role:

The immediate focus of this position is to maintain momentum with quarterly forecasting. The Systems Accountant will also focus on the identification of continuous improvements in systems and business processes, with a view to developing systems that have high levels of integrity and user value. As a key member of the Finance team, the Systems Accountant will also contribute to the budget, quarterly forecasting and year end processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage finance systems, related reporting, analysis, and visualisation tools.
  • Ongoing maintenance of the ERP system and related tools.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models.
  • Ensure all financial data is accurate and controls are in place to protect data integrity.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with the organisation's Finance and IT teams.
  • Project manage any changes to the accounting systems by liaising with Finance, IT, and other external stakeholders.
  • Work with both the Group Reporting & wider Finance teams to deliver system optimisation.
  • Technical and design input into system related projects.
  • Development and implementation of user guides and training.

About You:

The Systems Accountant will have broad experience with ERP and enterprise reporting tools, and will business partner with teams across the business to manage and identify areas of improvement in Ravensdown's reporting systems. Experience in a manufacturing environment would be a significant advantage, as would experience with Business Intelligence and / or Performance Measurement.

To be successful in this role, you will hold or be close to achieving CA / CPA / CIMA or similar.

You will have a very strong technology focus and meticulous analytical ability. You will be confident interpersonally and will relish the challenge of building relationships with stakeholders from all areas of the business. You will have a high level of personal integrity and consider your communication skills second-to-none.

Ideal Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience working as a System Accountant for medium to large organisations.
  • Technical expertise to build and improve the functionality of the ERP Systems.
  • Experience working with JDE, Hubble, Tableau, or other similar systems tools.
  • Experience working with complex Excel models.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks to deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Have a Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • A bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or relevant business degree.
  • CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA or similar qualification.
  • SQL and VBA experience is desirable.
