How you'll make an impact
The Payroll Specialist is part of the Finance Team which undertakes the finance function for all of Xero's worldwide operations. The Pay Team, within the wider Finance Team, is a global shared service. You will be part of the team responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll. The payroll system currently used is Netsuite Infinet Cloud, which has data integrations to Netsuite ERP and Workday HRIS. We also use Slack for communication and Zendesk for customer service. Xero also uses third party payroll providers for certain smaller payrolls in New Markets.
What you'll do
-You'll be responsible for the effective and accurate processing of end-to-end payrolls and associated processes, including:- End to end monthly payroll processing for all staff through Infinet Cloud payroll (NetSuite)- Administering payroll services in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and in line with the legislative, departmental and auditing requirements- Identifying and resolving day to day payroll issues, escalating any significant risks and issues in a timely manner- Assisting with the monthly balancing and reconciliation of the payroll control accounts, including accurate and timely payment of all payroll liabilities, in line with relevant legislation- Administering superannuation and maintaining salary sacrifice arrangements- Maintain accurate records and follow procedures with respect to the proper filing of hard/soft copy information- Work with People Experience (PX) to maintain the integrity of employee data in Workday- Respond to staff queries and promote a strong customer focus with ongoing emphasis on quality of service delivery- Preparing all Payroll submissions including company specific payroll returns, tax returns, online filings with tax authorities, superannuation and worker's compensation etc, ensuring all requirements are met within required timeframes- Supporting the Payroll Team Lead/Payroll Manager in Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, and recommend solutions to improve the value delivered to customers and stakeholders- Ad-hoc project work as required - eg new systems implementation and training, as appropriate
What you'll bring with you
