About This Role

This is a hybrid position.

This position will be responsible for the accounting and financial analysis as it relates to Ace Hardware Home Services within Sage Intacct. This will include ensuring the accurate presentation of financial records by providing accounting support and preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly results and financial analysis. The areas of responsibility will include some of the more complex transactions (leases, 401K, payroll, warranty reserves, etc.) and accounting issues along with daily finance functions. This team member will work directly with varying levels of management and business partners through various forms of communication when accomplishing these tasks. In addition, this team member will create/update accounting policies, procedures, and memos.

What You'll Do
  • Perform the monthly close responsibilities (journal entries, variance analysis, account reconciliations and management inquiries) associated with the complex functional areas for Ace Hardware Home Services.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly internal reporting packages.
  • Identify, propose and implement process improvements/accounting changes to simplify or streamline the process and ensure accuracy in the accounting.
  • Lead or assist on projects designed to improve accounting efficiency or drive higher quality deliverables. Manage the resources provided to ensure that the project goals are met on a timely basis.
  • Ad-hoc support of offsite operating company financial functions.

Who You Are

We are looking for an individual that has developed analytical, problem-solving, and data mining skills. This individual will be a team player with a strong understanding of accounting principles. You are an individual that has excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization that you will use to gain buy-in with policy or procedural changes.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of work experience in a financial/accounting capacity
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and data mining skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to self-review
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to successfully interact with management at various levels throughout the organization
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills

Preferred Skills
  • CPA or actively working towards a CPA
  • Experience with Sage Intacct
