Job Summary:

The controller will be responsible for all accounting and oversee the financial activities of the company. As head of the accounting department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting from all "closing the books activities including financial statement preparation, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance and variation analysis. Will report to the chief financial officer and will assist with the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.

Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, SOX compliance and testing, and various special analyses Maintain documented system of accounting policies and operations Oversee payments of all vendors; ensuring all accounts are processed accurately and paid on time Monitor cash and funding balances including international entities Prepare and organize the consolidation of the worldwide US GAAP monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements Ensure that monthly, quarterly and annual closing checklists are properly completed Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Advise on financial analyses and decision-making and other matters with management and chief financial officer Organize information, schedules and financial statements for audit for external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential. Complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field Ideal candidate has 5 to 10 years of experience in field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license required Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Proficiency with accounting software - knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Dynamics Navision a plus Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations Attention to detail Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead, motivate and supervise other finance team members Vector is an equal opportunity employer.
