The Financial Controller manages the finance function across hotels, directly overseeing the Finance team at the property. Responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the Accounts/Finance department, budget preparation, and ensuring compliance with SOPs.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for accounting and financial management.
  • Drive efficiency within the Finance team, develop SOPs for compliance.
  • Collaborate with Finance team, General Manager, and Management Company.
  • Support General Managers in achieving organisational goals.
  • Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and operating results.
  • Verify financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Submit management reports in a timely manner.
  • Implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a strong accounting and control environment.
  • Proactively assist with cost control and revenue enhancement.
  • Build an efficient Finance team.
  • Improve operating costs and profitability.
  • Achieve performance and budget goals.
  • Oversee internal and external audits.
  • Conduct regular Finance department meetings.
  • Recognise and celebrate team successes.


Person Specification

  • Demonstrated proficiency in team management to lead the Finance function.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of financial and management experience, specifically in day-to-day financial operations within a hospitality environment.
  • Advanced command of MS Applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with back-office or accounting systems such as SAP, Sage, Freshbooks, etc.
  • Knowledge of Hotel Software or Property Management Systems like OnQ, OPERA, etc.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong financial/business decision-making capabilities.
  • Possession of a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or a 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting, or a similar qualification is desirable.(Desirable)/ Qualified by Experience.
