Audit involves the independent verification of a company’s accounts. This gives confidence to investors and regulators that business performance reports are true and fair. As part of our growing Audit team, you will contribute to this verification process, from checking invoices and records to understanding client businesses and honing your professional judgement. Within our Corporate Audit team, you will get the inside view of a wide range of clients - from food and drink to oil and gas, to hospitality and construction.
We also have specialist Audit teams that focus on the financial services and funds sectors, both of which are very significant contributors to the UK economy and Johnston Carmichael's growth as a business.
Our Financial Services Team focuses on the wealth and asset management sector, including corporate asset managers, private equity and venture capital structures, LSE listed entities (including FTSE250s) and boasts a number of multi-national household names as clients. Our Funds Team focuses on a large portfolio of open ended regulated funds split across some of the UK's largest names in the sector. These structures make investment in a portfolio of investments, typically ranging from equities to bonds.
Our six week in-person summer internship will run from 8th July - 16th August 2024 and is designed to offer you first-hand experience of working with us. It is an opportunity for you to get an understanding of our business as well as for us to get to know you and your skills as an individual. At the end of the internship, there will be a review on your performance and experience, which could lead to an offer of a permanent position on our 2025 graduate programme. About you:
- Penultimate year honours degree student working towards a 2.1 or above in any subject
- Ability to demonstrate a growth mindset and a passion for learning
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and take pride in your work
- Good time management, problem solving skills and the ability to make sound judgements is essential along with a can-do approach
