Overall Purpose of Role:
This position plays a key role in supporting the Financial Controller with tax, treasury, and various operational responsibilities within the finance function. The role also involves ad hoc tasks related to reporting, accounting, and system/process improvements.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring accurate coding and reconciliations.
- Provide financial information to external advisors for quarterly tax reporting and annual Corporation Tax returns.
- Calculate and manage Corporation Tax Quarterly Instalment Payments.
- Coordinate with external advisors for overseas branch reporting and tax obligations.
- Monitor and reconcile tax submissions from customers in overseas locations.
- Manage annual PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations and submissions.
- Coordinate tax payments and prepare annual Senior Accounting Officer declaration.
- Forecast and review operational cash flows, managing cash balances and deposits.
- Monitor deposit maturities and provide instructions for optimal investment returns.
- Forecast and review currency exposures, manage existing hedging instruments, and implement additional actions as needed.
- Liaise with local and parent company Treasury functions to identify investment and risk management opportunities.
- Coordinate and prepare Board/Committee papers, including monthly Operational Governance Committee pack and tax strategy.
- Manage FATCA and CRS coordination and reporting.
- Prepare and monitor Risk Appetite Statement metrics.
- Manage relationships, mandates, and documentation with banks and counterparties.
- Review, update, or create policy and procedure documentation.
- Collaborate with the Finance team on system and process improvements.
- Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.
- Perform other ad hoc tasks and support as needed.
