Job overview:

Preqin has a strong brand in alternative assets data and our benchmarks are used extensively by key industry participants for a number use cases, including but not limited to fund screening, portfolio monitoring, due diligence, fundraising, research, advisory and reporting.

We're seeking a talented Product Manager who can bring benchmarking expertise to our Product Team. You will be responsible for our benchmarking methodologies, ensuring that we have great quality benchmarks across our use cases to underpin our segment specific products and GTM as a Benchmarking brand.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of financial benchmarking, who enjoys working cross-functionally as part of a fast-growing business.

This role can be situated in either our London or Birmingham offices. It will sit within our Benchmarks team, and report to the Head of Product.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:
  • Provide subject matter expertise on benchmarking methodologies, and partner with our segment focused business units to ensure we have the right methodologies in place for our different use cases
  • Ensure our methodologies are accurate, competitive and meet the needs of our different customer segments
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team across Data, Engineering, Product and Product Design to solve our customers' problems
  • Build strong relationships with customers and engage with them frequently.
  • Drive the accuracy, timeliness and comprehensiveness of the key datasets underlying our benchmarks.
  • Understand the regulatory and competitive landscape and how this might impact our benchmark methodology.
  • Identify and track the right metrics for your area and your customers and use these metrics (together with qualitative input) to inform decision making
  • Support our Marketing, Sales and Client Success teams with subject matter knowledge to support go-to-market and enablement activity.

Qualifications

You are a good fit if:
  • You have existing experience of financial benchmarking, coupled with strong industry knowledge or a keen willingness to rapidly gain expertise in the alternative assets sector.
  • Expertise in data analysis and customers discover and interviewing techniques.
  • Ability to partner well across teams and influence other areas of the business with a collaborative approach
  • A keen understanding of business strategy (e.g. understanding what messaging and incentives might be attractive to a private equity firm)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • You're outcome driven and evidence based, using data, customer feedback and market insight to help us to build industry leading products. You also can make good decisions when there is insufficient data or time
