What you’ll do

Lead an experienced team to enable the efficient and timely processing of payments made both through the system and manually
Support the team with cash forecasting and look for ways to continuously improve this process to better assist the business in understanding Co-op’s true cash position
Make sure the controls the team work with mitigate any risks
Build strong relationships with the wider teams across the business, keeping up to date of any changes in the business and communicating these effectively to the team
Lead on continuous improvement initiatives to make sure the Payments Team is working in the most efficient way and is providing an excellent service
Monitor the team KPIs and provide insights on performance against these to the Payments Manager
Work closely with our finance and commercial teams, alongside the Payments Manager to optimise our cash and resolve payment issues

This role would suit people who have

Knowledge of cash forecasting with an understanding of what controls are needed throughout the process
Previous experience of leading an Accounts Payable team
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high-volume workflow
Strong relationship building and influencing skills with internal and external partners at all levels
Good analytical and Excel skills
A passion for continuous improvement

An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
Coaching and training to support your career development
