We are Gravity, we are the UK’s biggest name in active entertainment. Fun is our key word, where our sites across the UK offer up to 30 activities from e-karting to trampoline parks, high wall climbing to augmented reality bowling. We are now looking for a Management Accountant to join our team at our head office in Wakefield.

What you’ll be doing...

You will be commercially minded; you will work closely with your peers providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision making. As a direct report of the Financial Controller, you will oversee the financial operations, review monthly reporting, and ensure efficient financial management.

Your key skills needed to succeed.
  • Review monthly management accounts in a timely manner following the month end for senior management to present to the board. Assist with the management account preparation where needed.
  • Cashflow management.
  • Assist in preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
  • Prepare monthly VAT returns for submission to HMRC.
  • Management of fixed assets and ongoing development.
  • Communicate and interpret financial data to non-financial managers.
  • Line management of purchase ledger team members and management accountant.
  • Support the Finance Manager/Director with any ad hoc finance tasks.
  • Oversee other aspects of financial operations such as bookkeeping and payroll.
  • Comply with internal and external financial policies, standards, and controls.

Qualifications & Training
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, excellent communicator and a good eye for detail.
  • Commercially astute to be able to analyse problems and help with decision making.
  • An ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate within a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with business sensitive information.

Product Knowledge
  • Proficient with core Microsoft software.
  • A good working knowledge of Access.
  • Experience of Sage payroll.
