Company Details and Job Overview:

A successful SME in Carlisle are looking to appoint a new Management Accountant due to an internal promotion. With a current turnover in the region of £12m, the business is expecting to double in size over the next 2-3 years through entering new and emerging markets.

Alongside routine finance tasks, the new Management Accountant will have the opportunity to support with various upcoming projects including a new system implementation and enhancing the performance of existing processes within the finance function.

Your New Role as Management Accountant:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Management Accountant duties will include:

Preparation of the management accounts pack including P&L, balance sheet, commentary and analysis
Supporting the FC with budget preparation
Supporting the FC with cash flow management and forecasting
Supporting the FC with year end accounting requirements, liaising with external stakeholders such as auditors
Overhead analysis and reporting
Maintenance of the fixed asset register
VAT return preparation
Overseeing the work of the Accounts Assistants, providing support and mentorship as required to aid their development

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The ideal candidate will be actively studying or already qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), with proven ability in a similar Management Accounting capacity. Strong Excel and analysis skills are imperative, and exposure to supporting system implementation/upgrades is advantageous. Additionally, good communication skills are required as you will be required to deliver financial insight and advice to a variety of non-finance stakeholders.
