This role will be key in ensuring optimised order to cash and purchase to pay processes, delivering change and improvements progressively whilst ensuring we work in a compliant and systematic manner.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Global Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Manager will be a senior finance role responsible for leading and developing a growing global transactional finance team, currently 17 across multi-locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring robust processes, controls and facilitating change and continuous improvements to support our strategic growth initiatives. The role will closely interact with Commercial and Procurement teams and be critical to the efficient running of the business and effective working capital management.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the transactional teams and ensuring the efficient cash collection and timely payment of invoices, managing working capital requirements globally and ensuring the business has sufficient cash balances to meet obligations as they fall due.
  • Management and review of efficient financial processes in the order to cash and procure to pay cycles, interacting as the key financial contact for commercial, operational and procurement teams.
  • Maintaining and monitoring short term cash flow forecasts for the group, reporting to the CFO and Group Finance Director on a weekly/ monthly basis.
  • Generating accurate customer invoices, in compliance with all relevant statutory legislation, regulations and taxation requirements. Complying with customer billing requirements and looking to operate standardised processes in the financial system, managing the interactions with the operational systems and pricing and costing teams as required.
  • Actively partnering and engaging with relevant colleagues and leading conversations with customers, suppliers, advisors and stakeholders as necessary
  • Assisting with the development of systems and initiatives relevant to customers and suppliers, interacting as needed with broader business projects. Supporting system developments and adopting a continuous improvement approach to improve efficiency and leveraging technology to achieve goals.
  • Creating, maintaining and monitoring KPIs and input into short term cash forecasts and being the financial subject matter expert for customer collections and supplier payments.
  • Ensuring the operation of key financial policies, establishing and maintaining necessary controls and segregations within a financial control framework and being the financial customer and supplier data lead to ensure financial data.
  • Effectively managing financial risks - credit, foreign exchange and master data and being a key contact for audit and insurance.
  • Driving collaboration with business partners and teams, in addition to other departments and offices on a global basis, to achieve Biocair’ s company objectives.
  • Leading the global AR and AP team ensuring that team members are engaged, motivated and trained whilst creating the environment for the individuals and team to develop and enable the skills to partner effectively with the broader Biocair business.
  • Enabling a combined one global team approach across the multi-locations and a flexible resourcing model to meet business demands.
  • Being an advocate for positive change, by promoting a team culture of reflective learning and continuous improvement whilst modelling the Biocair values and encourage those behaviours in all team members.
  • Complying with, and implementing as required, all security policies and procedures applicable to your role and location (including Shipment, IT and Information Security).

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:
  • ICM or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of managing multi-functional people and teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in both global supplier and accounts receivable.
  • Knowledge of global trading, VAT and duty requirements and compliance.
  • Modern credit control collection techniques and credit risk assessment.
  • Previous experience operating in matrix management dynamic environments.
  • Successful delivery of process improvement and change.
  • Experienced in managing, mentoring and coaching a diverse international team.
  • Demonstrable experience in both global supplier and accounts receivable.
  • Previous successful delivery of process improvement and change.
  • High attention to detail, excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills and a propensity to embrace technology and drive digital innovation.
  • Experience of using Sage X3 or similar system along with a project management qualification is desirable.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30 and is offered as hybrid working from our Cambridge office (CB22 3EG) with up to 2 days per week working from home.
