About the job:

This role is to lead on key finance projects including, our;
  • Cost Budget Change Events,
  • ROM Amendment Events,
  • Development of our financial response to the DA Negotiation, and Management of OLR shadow bid processes.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Management of contractual change
  • Management of in year compliance with the NRC under Chapter 7.5;
  • Notification and negotiation on identified Cost Budget Change Events
  • Co-ordination of and control of updates to the Escrow Model
  • Co-ordination of and control of updates to documents supporting the Escrow Model (e.g. ROA)
  • Co-ordination of and control of updates to performance benchmarks following identification of Trigger Events.
  • Management governance processes and stakeholder communications to obtain sign off
  • Management of external party deliverables required in order to amend the contract
  • Management of in year compliance with the NRC under Chapter 7.2A Revenue Outturn Mechanism
  • Negotiation of Revenue Outturn Mechanism amendment events
  • Co-ordination of and control of updates to the ROM Benchmarks
  • Co-ordination of and control of updates to documents supporting the ROM Benchmarks
  • Management governance processes and stakeholder communications to obtain sign off
  • Management of external party deliverables required in order to amend the contract
  • Review and appraisal of our contractual change process, develop clear documentation and implement clear business process.

Support to in year processes
  • Working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance and Head of Government Partnerships and Business Management to undertake quality assurance over our Annual Business Planning and Quarterly Forecast submission documents.
  • Working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance setup business process to capture and monitor in year efficiencies.
  • Review of and amendment to existing Finance - Cost Performance Based Fee reporting processes, implement amendments to business processes to improve reporting and challenge.
  • Working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance and Head of Government Partnerships and Business Management to undertake review over our Periodic Reporting processes and assist to prepare the business for adoption of SAP 4 Rise.

As a minimum, you will need to have:
  • Fully Qualified accountant with minimum of 5+ years of PQE
  • Experience of working on Transport contract bids
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Effective and proven negotiation skills with ability to influence decision making.
  • Confident in Excel, Word and SAP/SAP BI/SAP BPC an advantage.
  • Qualified Accountant CIMA, ACA &/or ACCA.

South Western Railways HQ is based on the 4th Floor at South Bank Central, a stone's throw from the River Thames and a 10 minute walk from our busiest station, Waterloo. It is local to many well-known attractions, restaurants and retail facilities and is easily accessible by public transport.

Working pattern:

Working an average of 37 hours pre week over 5 days

Monday - Friday
