Due to our ambitious growth plans we are looking to strengthen our team in a number of roles globally.

Acteon Group is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to support the Pulse Group during an exciting period of change. This newly created role is a key member of the finance team, initially on a 12-month FTC basis. The position reports directly to the Financial Controller and supports the Pulse Operating Companies (OpCo) operating out of UK, US and Brazil. This role is instrumental to manage Tax and Statutory Reporting, Balance Sheet Management, Financial Control and Stock Accounting.

  • Supporting the Financial Controller to efficiently close month end process in line with Segment timelines
  • Initially support the FC to clean up the balance sheet by producing detailed balance sheet reconciliations, identify BS risks and opportunities and implement corrective actions
  • Own balance sheet reconciliation process to maintain integrity of general ledger and its supporting sub-systems. Ensure account reconciliations meet standards actively support for the Balance Sheet Review process
  • Deliver high quality and timely monthly reporting to Group and local business
  • Provides technical competency to ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, legal requirements and GAAP
  • Actively seek process improvements within Pulse Finance, creates and implements procedures to improve the internal control environment, streamlined efforts and provide increased transparency of effectiveness of financial controls
  • Ensures assets are accounted for correctly and safeguarded appropriately. This includes appropriate controls and audits around inventory and fixed assets
  • Support the Financial Controller to develop and implement processes, systems and policies in line with the Finance Strategic Plan
  • Assist in the developing of balance sheet, financial reconciliations, reports and statutory submissions for UK and USA including Balance Sheet reconciliations and financial audits
  • Maintain integrity of the General Ledger. Review, analyse and evaluate financial data and information for accuracy, consistency and transparency
  • Establish, monitor and maintain a system of internal controls that safeguards company asset and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities
  • Process CAPEX requests to approval. Conduct follow-up audits to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments
  • Take ownership of all statutory and tax submissions in UK and USA including UK VAT returns and ONS, and USA Sales & Use and Property tax
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of the year-end audit for the statutory accounts including justification of all balances

  • Prior experience in a similar role within engineering and manufacturing industries would be an advantage
  • Part Qualified/Qualified/Qualified by experience will be considered
  • User knowledge of Navision is be desirable. Excellent Excel skill is a must
  • Accounting experience with inventory accounting and supporting audits
  • Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with a strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Creative and adaptable in the ability to manage new challenges
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple, complex and fast-track priorities with a proactive and positive attitude
