Corporate Tax Consultant - JP Morgan - London - 12 months contract - Hybrid - PAYE

We are seeking 2 x Corporate Tax Consultants to join JP Morgan in London on an initial 12 months contract to cover the UK tax compliance and EMEA Tax accounting. You should have a wealth of experience in UK tax either from a tax, consulting or accountancy background working in a large corporate organisation and experienced with either ONESOURCE of Alphatax software.

DESCRIPTION:

The EMEA Tax Department is, amongst other things, responsible for the UK Corporation Tax compliance for the UK group.

KEY

RESPONSIBILITIES:


The successful applicant will be working in a team responsible for the following in relation to the UK companies:
  • Identification and monitoring of entities within the charge to UK corporation tax;
  • Month end procedures, including:
  • tax monthly provisions and associated tax journals;
  • year to date results schedule;
  • certification and substantiation of tax balances in the general ledger;
Tax provisions and disclosures for UK companies' statutory accounts (this will include liaising with the auditors) and associated accounting journals; Corporation tax computations and returns; Liaising with the New York Tax Department
  • Quarterly reporting packs
  • Forecasting of taxable profits
  • Reporting tax liabilities for inclusion in the US foreign tax credit calculations
  • Ad hoc queries
Bank Levy; CATA; Dealing with HMRC enquires; Manage the Group Payment Arrangement, including preparation of and arranging payment of quarterly instalment payments; Group relief claims and surrenders; Involvement with other ad hoc corporate tax issues as required

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
  • A qualified professional with a recognized accounting and/or tax qualification
  • A self-motivated team player who is able to prioritize and work to demanding deadlines
  • A knowledge of the UK corporation tax regime with strong tax accounting skills
  • An individual focused on operating within and enhancing the existing tax risk and control framework
  • Experience of working in a tax department of a US investment bank an advantage
  • Experience of Onesource Corporation Tax software
  • Experience of SAP or CDGL an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent research, analytical and reasoning skills
