Location: Hybrid - Case House, Surrey or Bede Island, Leicester Employment type: Permanent Hours Per Week: 35 So what’s the role all about?We have recently merged 2 departments to support our expanding strategic focus on customers whilst creating new structures to support initiatives and offer succession planning and support for employees. As such we are looking for a new Service Charge Officer to support this. This role can offer hybrid working, meaning you will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days a week with the rest being from home, however we may need you to be in the office more within your probation, whilst you get up to speed. We’re happy to consider flexible working options for all our roles, and we’ll always do our best to keep your work and life in balance. Some of the key tasks and responsibilities include:
Work collaboratively with other areas of the business, including Housing Teams, Charge Management Teams, Estate Teams and Home Ownership Teams to deliver a customer focussed service to our tenants and leaseholders Develop knowledge of our schemes to ensure charges are affordable and represent value for money and accurately reflect the scheme composition Production of annual budgets on a scheme by scheme basis using the Service Charge Management System. Use analytical tools, knowledge and review of previous charges to ensure accuracy and the full recovery of costs Assist the Development Teams to set appropriate service charges on new schemes Ensure all service charges are effectively communicated to customers in a clear and transparent way Production of year end statements for variable service charges. Review of costs and liaison with other teams to calculate year end adjustments. Working with auditors as required, updating tenant accounts and mailing of information to residents Ensure compliance with relevant service charge legislation and adhere to good practice Maintain up to date knowledge on service charges and developments within the sector
To be successful in this role, we’d be looking for the following...
Experience of working in a service charge finance team within the social housing or private sector Knowledge of service charge legislation Experience of working in a finance environment with strict deadlines Experience in working in a highly regulated environment
