The Finance Controller / Head of Finance will provide the lead in the production and development of management accounting and reporting and will provide guidance and advice on all operational finance matters to colleagues across the organisation. This role is responsible for the creation and implementation of all financial policies, processes and procedures as required by the organisation, with a particular emphasis on cashflow. You will lead a team of 2 Finance Assistants and 4 Business Support staff.

There is a requirement for the post holder to have the skills and knowledge to be able to develop existing (and implement new) financial systems to the benefit of the business. As part of this role the post holder will be responsible for delivery of the year end audits to strict timescales and deadlines.

Experience and qualifications required:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA CIPFA)
  • Proven experience in both accounting and management at a senior level
  • Experience of delivering and monitoring financial strategy
  • Experience in the preparation, monitoring and reporting of budget and financial management information
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting systems

  • Excellent analytical and interpretive ability
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to a broad range of people internally and externally including non-financial specialists
