About the opportunity
Working alongside the Group Reporting Manager and Group Financial Controller, will enjoy a varied role supporting various sites as a group resource from a finance standpoint, undertaking some typical statutory accounts preparation responsibilities alongside supporting on group consolidation work. You will be a key asset to the finance team and the business, supporting on delivery of internal solutions and projects, initially supporting on a tax project to implement compliance across the group, whilst supporting the GRM and GFC in acting as a group resource to support the sites from a technical reporting standpoint. Alongside the above, you will work with the wider finance team, supported by and supporting an experienced senior finance team with multiple pieces of acquisition work including business case preparation, testing and subsequent financial integration.
This job description can be adapted within reason to suit the successful applicant, and initially will support other senior team members who currently lead on group consolidation workload. You will ideally have prior experience (or the appetite to enhance your experience) in group reporting skills - this could result in you taking on further responsibility to step into the group consolidation lead role where required. Some aspects of the role include: • Group Reporting: o Supporting on the management of monthly consolidation of group results o Monthly group forecasting including P&L, BS, CF, Orders & Covenants o Prep of the monthly MFR pack for the PE House o Liaising with site FDs to ensure accurate business unit reporting • Budgeting • Financial Analysis The role also offers the opportunity to be involved with/lead on • Project work (e.g. tax/compliance policy rollout across the group) • Acquisition work (e.g. prepping business cases for potential acquisitions through to the financial integration into the group) • Other ad-hoc work as required
The ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate would have a strong technical grounding from a mid to large practice environment and be an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant. It is not essential that you have operated within a group reporting role previously, however exposure to a group operational environment in your first role after practice would be advantageous. A comfortability with general Tax procedures is essential however a specialised Tax knowledge is not essential. Prior exposure to significant acquisition work would be highly attractive, particularly around acquisition integration.
