We are supporting our rapidly growing client in High Wycombe. This is the 2nd hire within the team in the last few months, so growth is assured! As they continue to expand, they are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Credit Risk Lead to join their underwriting finance team.
Responsibilities for the Credit Risk Lead:
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to support profit, growth, retention, and customer service goals.
- Analyse and interpret data from various reports to inform decision-making.
- Allocate underwriting authority, empowering staff to assess risks, set pricing, and handle reinsurance.
- Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of partnerships, making recommendations for adjustments.
- Track and assess the impact of large losses, providing insights for modifying underwriting guidelines.
- Execute timely credit decisions within established parameters, leveraging your underwriting authority. Strive for a balanced approach that mitigates risk while facilitating business growth and meeting customer needs.
- Offer well-substantiated recommendations, even for deals beyond your personal underwriting mandate. Utilise your analytical expertise to assess deals, ensuring a nuanced approach to risk.
- Support day-to-day credit management processes, collaborating across departments to ensure accurate lending decisions and equitable outcomes for customers
Qualifications for the Credit Risk Lead
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a Senior Underwriter / analyst - minimum 4 years
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions.
