Our Customers Finance function are looking of a forward-thinking Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to take centre stage in the dynamic realms of our Finance and Commercial teams!
The Opportunity

This role will put you at the heart of the Finance and Commercial functions within Customers Finance, supporting the transition to the new Retail business billing platform and being the driving force behind key planning activities and related areas of regulatory reporting.

You’ll ensure a smooth and well planned financial close process that meets the requirements of our internal management reporting as well as the needs of a corporate stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

As a forward-thinking professional, you’ll scrutinize planning, budgeting and forecasting information, challenging assumptions and decisions to ensure quality and consistency. Working with the Finance Director and Leadership team to agree content of the packs and monitor the timelines for pack production and consolidation of the inputs into the reporting system.

You’ll facilitate a streamlined audit process by coordinating inputs from various teams, challenging audit requirements, and providing updates to stakeholders mentioned above.

Navigate the complexities of Ofgem Stress Test forecasting, overseeing deadlines, reviewing templates, and supporting the leadership team in creating board papers. You’ll also take the lead in crafting Annual Ofgem Segmental reports, showcasing EBIT by Domestic and Non-domestic and reconciling this seamlessly back to the trial balance.

You’ll be accountable for the Customers Business valuation model and being able to articulate to senior corporate stakeholders including the Finance Director and Corporate Consolidations team.

Provide day-to-day management for your team of Senior Analysts and Analysts, support their work, prioritising tasks, offer coaching, setting objectives and conduct performance reviews and appraisals. Most important you’ll foster a culture of continuous development, regularly discussing and refining individual development plans in 1:1 session’s.
Who you are

We’re seeking a qualified Accountant with team leadership experience, ideally within Utilities or a similar blue-chip environment. Possessing strong business awareness, you’ll provide valuable insights, sense-check data, and interpret information effectively. Demonstrating accountability and collaboration, you excel at gathering requirements and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Your resilience and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, set you apart. With a curious mindset, you challenge norms and strive for efficiencies, while effectively managing competing priorities.

You’ll be committed to adopting continuous improvement practices and upholding the Customers Finance charter, you actively contribute to a sustainable business approach, encompassing financial, environmental, and social aspects.
