We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the Risk and Internal Audit function, the role would be ideal for someone with experience as a manager within an internal audit function or for someone looking to take their first step out of practice. Trainline’s Risk and Internal Audit is relatively new to the organisation with the function formally established in 2021. Though we have long-established and mature compliance processes, the internal audit and risk functions are still in their fledgling phase. The role is expected to help shape and drive this agenda within Trainline. You will also work alongside the Head of Risk and Internal Audit and our co-source partner to assist with internal audits, risk management and compliance activities. We are looking for people with pragmatism, who can help provide actionable risk and control improvement recommendations for a fast-paced, fast-growing the heavily regulated rail industry, our compliance activities focus principally on our commercial agreements with rail carriers (both in the UK and across the EU) and our customer service programs - ensuring we deliver the right quality and meet the expectations of the rail industry partners. Working closely with your business partners and the wider commercial teams will be an important role, so someone with good relationship and communication skills and commercial acumen is key! The role will allow an ambitious audit and risk professional a much wider remit than traditional audit roles and the person will be at the forefront of the corporate governance agenda in a fast-moving, technology-driven organisation. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Head of Risk and Internal Audit with on-going, day-to-day internal audit (50%), risk management (30%) and compliance activities (20%). Proactively manage, drive and continuously improve our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. Lead risk workshops with senior stakeholders and help advise on and coordinate risk management presentations to the Board.Participate in and coordinate cutting-edge technology internal audit engagements, including overseeing the work delivered by our audit co-source partner. End-to-end management of non-technology business process audits over the audit lifecycle.Assist with our regulatory and compliance obligations and co-ordinate ad-hoc requests from our regulatory and industry partners.Oversee the work of and coach the internal audit analyst.Help drive the wider audit, risk and compliance agenda within Trainline (e.g., lunch & learn sessions, etc.) Experience in planning and executing internal audits, including presentation of findings and results to senior stakeholders. Prior experience with Information Technology audits would be beneficial.Familiarity with risk management standards and principles. Effective communication, presentation and influencing skills across all levels in the organisation.Ability to effectively coach and mentor a more junior/analyst-level resource.Advantageous, but not compulsory: Experience in a highly regulated industry and knowledge of compliance requirements and standards. (Previous experience within the rail industry would be a plus).Prior Big 4/practice experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Why should you jump on board?
