An FMCG business based in Malton is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful individual will receive a competitive salary of up to £24,000 to £29,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications), as well as 28 days holiday including bank holidays, study support, attractive Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm working hours, and further.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, key responsibilities of the Finance Assistant will include:
  • Accounts Payable
    • Process invoices, match to delivery notes, price check to PO's/stock file, resolve discrepancies
    • Supplier statement reconciliations
    • Setting up new supplier accounts
  • Accounts Receivable
    • Process invoices
    • Issue customer statements
    • Assist with credit control
    • Setting up new customer accounts
  • Cash Book
    • Process cash & credit card receipts and payments
    • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Assisting Finance Manager when required including month-end processing & reporting, overhead analysis, stocktake etc
  • Other duties, as required

To be successful in this Finance Assistant role, you will ideally have/be:
  • AAT qualified or studying (desirable)
  • Great communication, with a can-do attitude and excellent work ethic
  • Be able to work towards delivering key deadlines, whilst establishing a high level of attention to detail
  • A confident user of IT systems or accountancy software such Sage, Quickbooks or Xero, as well as MS Excel

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a Finance Assistant opportunity, who ideally has some accountancy experience and wanting to expand their knowledge further. This role would also be ideal for somebody who is currently studying or is AAT qualified or has equivalent experience. You may be a Finance Assistant, Accounts Administrator, Finance Officer, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk or an Administrator with some accountancy experience, who is looking for a new challenge.

Based in Malton, this role is commutable from Scarborough, Filey, Hummanby, Pickering, York and surrounding areas, with onsite parking available. This role is also commutable via public transport, via bus if the candidate lives local to Malton.
