Are you a skilled Accountant with a passion for contributing to a dynamic team, adept at handling diverse finance functions such as cashflows, accounts preparation, and costings?
Our client, who has been established for 30 years and has a portfolio of over 800 properties, are currently engaged in three major construction projects.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with auditors, bankers, and legal professionals, overseeing crucial elements such as credit control and debt collection. Are you the ideal candidate for this opportunity?Are you the right person for the job?
What will your role look like?
- Demonstrated experience in the construction industry
- Proficiency in Xero accounting is indispensable
- In-depth knowledge of construction VAT and general construction practices
What can you expect in return?
- Efficiently manage group cash flow
- Prepare comprehensive forecasts, including cash projections and quarterly management accounts
- Monitor actual development spending against the budget
- Negotiate facilities with the bank
- Ensure strict compliance with bank covenants
- Oversee VAT compliance
- Submit statutory returns to regulatory bodies like Companies House and HM Revenue
- Coordinate group insurance renewal
- Prepare and finalize intercompany development contracts
- Provide input on the viability and cash requirements of development schemes
- Review rental reports, comparing actuals with budgeted figures, addressing voids, and managing bad debt levels
- Regularly review creditor positions
- Collaborate with group solicitors
- Liaise effectively with group auditors and tax advisors
- Conduct periodic reviews of rental debtors, supervising necessary actions for resolution
