Who You Are You are a qualified professional with recognised accountancy qualifications such as CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. You have strong understanding of financial management principles and practices, alongside powerful analytical and problem-solving skills. Your experience includes significant financial management/business partnering activities, working with senior stakeholders, budget setting activities, financial modelling and analysis, and influencing decision-making. You possess advanced Excel skills and are proficient in using financial management systems and software. Plus, if you have experience in working with Members, involvement in political procedures, leading large scale projects, and knowledge of procurement processes and contract management. What the Job Involves As a Finance Business Partner, your role will include collaboration with budget holders and stakeholders within assigned Directorates to provide financial advice and guidance. Developing effective relationships with budget holders and translating their objectives into financial plans is central to the role. You'll prepare accurate financial reports, analyse financial data and provide recommendations to support informed decision-making. Expect to work closely with budget holders to review expenditure, monitor budgets, and implement corrective actions for effective financial control. You'll also support development and monitoring of business strategies aligning with the overall financial objectives of the Council. Providing financial modelling for assessing potential initiatives is another critical part of the job. Lastly, you are expected to stay updated with changes in financial regulations and policies.
