Job Title:
Financial Controller

Monmouth, Wales, UK

Up to £75k plus car allowance

Role Summary:
As the Financial Controller, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Global Supplements business. Your responsibilities include leading the finance team, enhancing control processes, and optimizing forecasting and reporting systems to facilitate strategic decision-making by senior management.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities of this Financial Controller role:
- Lead and mentor the Finance and Sales Order Processing (SOPs) team, fostering both individual and collective development.
- Ensure the effectiveness and appropriateness of financial controls, regularly reviewing and refining them in alignment with the ABF controls framework.
- Identify procedural weaknesses and implement solutions to maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage the annual budgeting process, including the production of budgets and regular forecasts to support business management.
- Consolidate financial data across all entities within the Global Supplements business, ensuring consistency in processes and applications.
- Produce comprehensive and timely management accounts tailored to business needs.
- Analyze sales and manufacturing data to identify trends and anomalies, aiding strategic decision-making.
- Submit all required reports accurately and on time to the AB Agri central finance team.
- Compile year-end files, including tax packs, and liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Collaborate with departments to accurately record the financial impact of their activities.
- Maintain an up-to-date cash flow forecast, reporting any variances to ensure effective cash flow management, including foreign currency hedging where necessary.
- Monitor the cost base to understand variances and their implications.
- Ensure the business achieves value for money across all goods and services.
- Provide support for strategy development and execution to help the business achieve its strategic goals.
- Offer ad-hoc support as required by the Finance Director.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Attributes of this Financial Controller role:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in line management, with the ability to support and develop a small team.
- Familiarity with SAGE Accounting system.
- Experience with group reporting requirements.

- Passion for pets with an interest in the Equine industry and understanding of the equestrian market.
