About Business line/Function :

Global Market Operations is mandated to provide endo to end trade processing within CIB ITO Global Markets. GMO's teams are focused on cross business standardization to improve efficiency of ITO services, while keeping operational risk under control.

ISPL Securities Operations, Collateral management and TFLM teams supports business. The team is primarily responsible for carrying out following activities:

Provide best in class service to Clients, institutional and corporate clients of the Bank

Process settlements, Collateral management, Treasury, payments and corporate actions for transaction initiated by CIB GM business.

Provide support across regions (APAC, EMEA and AMER and products (Bonds, Equities, Complex Securities, ETF, SLAB, Repo etc)

Position Purpose

The incumbent in this role will be a part of Tax Operations covering Global regions supporting the Global Market businesses. More specifically the incumbent is expected to have knowledge around and work on the below aspects:

  • Stamp Duty Reserve Taxes: Processes around Stamp tax per market rules and any relevant exemptions and exception management for calculation/application/ payment etc.
  • Financial Transaction Taxes: Processes around payment and/or reporting per specific market rules; relevant exemptions, documentation and exception management
  • Withholding Tax: Key tasks involved are Tax Reclaims support, Tax vouchers, certifications, documentation lifecycle management etc.
  • IRS Regulations for Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 61: Withholding, payment, documentation lifecycle management, reporting etc.
  • Transaction taxes, Stamp duty or other local market taxes across regions
  • Ensuring strict process compliance and adherence to Regulatory tax requirements
  • Proactive identification and reconciliation of Instrument static with market data, ensuring correct tax static data is in place in the relevant systems
  • Partnering with Ops, Technology, Business and other key stakeholders in defining and implementing the Target Operating Model
  • Weekly & monthly Management Reporting of Key metrics, market changes and Forward looking risks

Experience Required

Minimum of 12 years' experience and 8+ years' experience in Tax operations
