Your new company
A Bath-based employer of choice are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to cover a 15-month maternity contract. The purpose of this role is to provide professional financial support to the Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis Team. You will be carrying out a range of financial reporting related tasks, working with Management Accountants to develop skills in the understanding of financial reporting, finance policies and procedures and how to apply them.
Your new role
As Assistant Management Accountant will have dealings with all levels of staff and external stakeholders so excellent communication skills are essential.

Duties will include:
* Provide accurate and timely advice to ensure workforce resources remain within approval limits.
* Support budget holders and HR Business Partners with the development of good quality business cases for current and future staffing needs.
* Produce monthly information for the Senior Management team and budget holders that is accurate, including reliable FY forecast outturn information that can be used in the decision-making process.
* Deliver month end activities in accordance with the month-end timetable, including the pay reconciliation and adjustments, providing commentary as necessary.
* Deputise for the Management Accounting & Partnering Manager by providing support and relevant financial guidance to budget holders within their remit as and when required.
* To provide support to the Finance Team Leaders and other members of the finance department with projects and tasks when required.
* Develop a range of contacts outside your own team and identify opportunities to share knowledge and learning as well as plan and implement new processes that will deliver good customer service.
* Be highly competent in the use of the financial planning and resource systems, providing training and support as required.
* Ensure business continuity, cover and support is provided for colleagues within the Financial Reporting team during peak periods, holiday, or illness.

What you'll need to succeed
* Educated to AAT level or equivalent work experience.
* Experience of analysing and reporting data and providing information and reports to stakeholders.
* At least 2 years' experience of working in a finance environment in a similar role
* High level user of Microsoft packages, including Excel and Word.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Confident and able to foster good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to manage workload effectively, prioritise tasks and respond to changing business needs.
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to gain the confidence of others and influence as appropriate.
