He angitūtanga - The opportunity
Here's an amazing opportunity to join a great team, to provide high quality, timely, effective financial advice and advanced technical accounting support to the Financial Controller, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the organisation (including Elected Members), taking responsibility of the key finance deliverables of Annual Plans, Long-term Plans, financial modelling and business partnering.
Using a business partner model, the team also offers accounting, analytical and modelling support to the organisation to improve decision making and financial accountability, as well as strengthen the financial literacy of our budget holders. This is a senior financial management role responsible for providing a proactive and positive contribution to the Group by leading “best practice” and enabling development and coaching across the organisation.
He kōrero mōu - About you
You'll be an experienced CA-qualified Accountant, with relevant experience in Local Government or complex, medium sized organisations. You'll be a natural mentor and coach with well honed communication and relationship management skills, strong numeric reasoning, excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Your skills will see you looked upon as a senior member of the team who works collaboratively with business units and the Finance team to help facilitate the best financial decisions and create value for the Horowhenua community.
You're a genuine team player supporting your teammates and stakeholders across the organisation. Whilst the role does not have direct reports, we see this role as providing leadership through coaching and providing guidance to members of the finance team and the wider organisation.
