Chief Accountant - Real Estate Central London £60-75,000 plus benefits Based in Central London and reporting to the CFO, the Chief Accountant is responsible for the preparation of the full accounting pack and assisting the VP of Finance on numerous ad hoc projects and tasks. Duties Accounts: Maintains the accounting records ensuring transactions are properly reflected in the accounts. Management Reporting: Prepares/Reviews daily key management reports. Financial Reporting: Prepares/Reviews the consolidation and accounting for subsidiaries and joint ventures on a quarterly basis and annually. Performance Analysis: Performs analytical review on the periodical financials received from the real estate subsidiaries. Audit: Assists with the coordination of the audits of various group subsidiaries, by independent auditors. IT Systems: Monitors and evaluates financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed. Performance analysis: Reviews performance against budget and produces reports and makes presentations on a range of investments and subsidiaries. Qualifications: Accounting degree from a top-tier university. Preferably ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA, CPA, MBA or similar professional/Academic certificates. Good working knowledge of IFRS. Strong knowledge of consolidations, equity accounting and joint venture accounting. Strong knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives and foreign currency translations. Strong knowledge of general ledger systems (knowledge of Microsoft Navision is a plus). Proficient Microsoft Office Skills (especially Excel and use of pivot tables) Adequate knowledge of tax rules and filing requirements. Experience : 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in financial institutions with leading organisations in similar positions. Skills: Strong team player, proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and ability to thrive in a team-work oriented environment.
