Position: Housing Revenue Officer

Rate : £17.59per hour (PAYE) or £22.80per hour(umbrella)

Duration: +3 months

Our client is a local authority council and based in Redditch & Bromsgrove

Key

Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Focus: Ensuring access to housing, promoting independent and healthy living, and supporting financial independence for the community.
  • Operational Excellence: Proactively identifying and assisting tenants in fulfilling their rental obligations, and minimising debt while maximising housing revenue.
  • Collaborative Approach: Working closely with the Neighbourhood and Tenancy Team to sustain tenancies and ensure effective revenue collection, including addressing arrears and leaseholder debts.
  • Service Development: Contributing to initiatives that empower customers to live independently and prevent homelessness.
  • Legal Compliance: Fulfilling obligations under various housing and welfare acts.
  • Customer-Centric Services: Delivering quality housing revenue and welfare advice services with a focus on equality, diversity, and respect.
  • Performance Management: Achieving targets related to debt reduction, maximised collection rates, and mitigating the impact of welfare reforms.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with various teams and agencies to maximize tenant income and minimize overpayments.

  • Person Specification:

    • Qualifications: Higher education (A level or equivalent) in relevant fields; willingness to pursue CIH Professional qualification Level 3.
    • Experience: Minimum three years in housing revenue or income collection/recovery services.
    • Skills: Methodical case management, in-depth knowledge of welfare benefits, and ability to support tenancy sustainment.
    • Behaviours: Customer-focused, organized, performance-driven, and capable of managing complex enquiries and complaints.
