Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a BCom Finance degree (Or similar) and ideally experience in managing financial operations across multiple companies. The role involves overseeing the coordination of accounting clerical staff and ensuring the accurate and timely execution of various accounting tasks. The candidate must be proficient in handling financial data, possess strong analytical skills, and be capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.Responsibilities:Coordinate and guide accounting clerical staff, ensuring effective teamwork and adherence to established accounting practices and principles.Maintain and update the fixed asset register for 4 to 5 companies, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of company assets.Manage tax asset registers, depreciation, and journal postings to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations.Perform monthly reconciliations of minor assets, cash book postings, and reconciliation of prepayments for accurate financial reporting.Conduct diesel reconciliation, stock reconciliation, and management of non-stock items, plant hire, and subcontractors' financial data.Oversee the invoicing process for rental income and update rental contracts as necessary to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.Handle petty cash postings and reconcile petty cash transactions regularly to maintain accurate financial records.Manage sundry revenue and debtors, ensuring timely collections and accurate recording of revenue.Complete warranty claims, insurance, and vehicle licensing renewals in a timely manner to ensure the company's assets are appropriately covered and licensed.Reconcile and post finance leases, ensuring accurate recording of lease transactions and compliance with lease terms.Conduct analysis of company vehicle spend and present findings to management.Post recurring and adjusting journals accurately to reflect the company's financial position.Take responsibility for managing monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (BCom Finance preferred).4 -5 years proven experience in managing multiple accounting tasks and coordinating accounting teams in a complex financial environment.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with accounting software like Palladium and or Quickbooks an advantage Familiarity with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
