The role

As a Risk Manager, the breadth and potential impact of this organisation provide a rare opportunity.

The diversity of day-to-day operations in itself provides excellent challenge. In addition, the strategic and future responsibility the organisation holds will involve you in understanding and managing the threats and opportunities that impact the way we live and our future quality of life.

The role will support the risk governance of the organisation by understanding its responsibilities and enabling sound decision-making. Equally, you will develop and manage the roadmap for the development of a culture that understands and uses effective risk management processes.

Fundamentally, the role requires a working knowledge and understanding of internal audit procedures, and experience in internal audit planning, completion, and reporting. Combined with this the ability to work across the whole organisation enabling a culture of risk awareness where threats and opportunities are managed appropriately.

You will have key responsibilities for the development, execution, and monitoring of an annual internal audit program, and the organisation's risk framework, initiatives, strategies, policies and procedures.

This will require demonstrated familiarity with risk management principles and capability in compiling detailed reports, work plans, agendas and reporting to the Audit and Risk committee with confidence.

There is also a requirement to add value to the business when carrying out these duties by identifying and promoting opportunities for process improvement.

Your experience
  • Proven risk management and leadership experience
  • Qualifications as a Chartered Accountant or similar
  • The ability to think strategically with a broad insight into internal audit and risk practices and principles.
