Job Purpose

The Product Manager - Central Govt. and Govt. Asset Business is responsible for enhancement of product features as per the business and market needs, introduction and improvement of policies and processes for banking needs across the product spectrum for Govt. entities / Vendors. The primary product lines include Assets, Liabilities and Fee & Commission based products.

Job Responsibilities


Business Objective

§ Tracking the lending business opportunities generated and measure performance on periodic basis.

§ Track opportunities in the Central Government and provide product modifications and/or new products according to the requirements of the concerned department/ministry.

§ Closely work with the Central Government team providing relevant updates, support documents, offer letters, and MIS on periodic basis and also on need basis.

§ Monitor GIB team's performance on the customized offers and campaigns (led down to increase business) by reviewing business delivery v/s expectation.

§ To keep a check on the performance of accounts and parameters like NAV, Inc Val, etc. and design campaigns & strategies to enhance the business

§ Channel Engagement Interaction with seniors of the sourcing channels such as BBHs/ZHs/Circle Heads and ZH/SH/AH as appropriate, for feedback on improvement on income portfolio hygiene, customer engagement, identification of focus resources and guiding them through focused monitoring of performance and action plan through weekly/monthly interactions and updates.

§ Conducting performance reviews on various campaigns designed & implemented to drive business objectives in Regions/Zones/clusters and branches with the teams to identify present concerns and concretize action plans.

§ Central & regional initiatives monitoring and driving key management objectives/initiatives through release of weekly/monthly updates, discussing with underperforming resources/locations /clusters and zones on progress in specific central and regional initiatives

Portfolio Management; Exploring new markets and segments

§ Product Manager will be responsible for retaining and deepening existing relationships, exploring new business opportunities with the existing customers in coordination with other product and sales teams involved in government business.

§ Create a time-bound plan along with sourcing channel and ensure execution for acquisition of business in identified markets/segments

§ Customized Government product offerings to suit the requirements of identified markets/segments

§ Provide internal targets to ZH, SH and AH for achieving business in the new market/segment identified for having focused business approach

Internal Coordination

§ Marketing support - Leverage the marketing team to create collaterals and develop consumer insights e.g. videos and customized digital campaigns to facilitate business

§ Regulatory/Audit/Compliance - Ensure that the product adhere to the regulatory requirements in consultation with audit and compliance

§ BTG Support/Technology - Product development/enhancement basis the feedback received from business teams and customers

§ Will be responsible for imparting knowledge on the various schemes and initiatives taken by Govt. departments and entities.

§ Understanding various processes of wholesale banking and make aware the sourcing teams about the same for better coordination.

Portal/Dashboard Management & Capability Building

§ Making collaterals and decks for govt. banking asset business

§ Development of training content and spreading awareness of the product & its value proposition among sourcing channels by conducting training of all channels.

§ Ease of documentation process by updating FAQs and updating channels & RDVUs on the required documentation

§ Provide monthly updates on business to seniors in sourcing teams and Product/Process teams. Ensure clarity and accuracy of data and MIS. Work with fincon on streamlining data and MIS on regular basis.

§ Revision of services offered, fees & charges, brochures / leaflets / other communication material for customer communication

Competition and Market Analysis

§ Understanding and evaluating the market size/opportunity; and reviewing competition offering. Update the sourcing channels on same on a regular basis.

§ Improvise the existing process and products as per latest trend and basis insights from competition analysis.

§ Product bundling and customized sales enablers such as offer letters, PPTs, one pagers etc. to be shared with sourcing channels and update on internal portals.

§ Establish working arrangement with various teams of the bank e.g. HNW team to give special offerings for government officials.

§ BTG Support/Technology - Product development/enhancement basis the feedback received from business teams and customers

Credit & Legal perspective

§ Working with Process team on streamlining the process for lending business for govt. banking

§ Liaising with credit, legal and compliance team for various legs of asset business like valuation, legal and compliances.

§ Simplifying the existing process flow and analyzing completion process and documentation basis which implementing necessary relevant modifications

§ Graduation: Any

§ Candidate must possess MBA/CA/ICWA/CFA with more than 4 years of relevant experience

§ Excellent knowledge of lending business and hands on with documentation for all types of entities

§ Good knowledge of functioning of central government departments, schemes, funds flow, budget preparation, and inter-department relations.

§ Good operation, credit and analytical skills are essential

§ Should have excellent understanding of lending industry, regulatory aspects, product, policy and processes

§ Should be target oriented and willing to take responsibilities

§ Excellent communication and presentation skills

§ Proficient in the use of MS Office suite- Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Experience Required(examples listed below)

§ Minimum experience in years - 4 years; of which minimum 2 years in asset business- preferably sales, credit, or product

§ Relevant experience in Credit analysis, Risk mitigation, portfolio valuation

§ Fair understanding of balance sheets, Credit note preparation
