Description
We are looking for a systems accountant for one of our clients in East London. The ideal candidate will be In charge of creating and upholding systems and processes to facilitate the efficient processing of both financial and non-financial data, the Systems Accountant is tasked with expanding the suite of management tools and reports used for business insights. Collaborating with the Finance and Technical Teams, this role ensures the smooth operation and delivery of a top-notch service across the broader Group.
The successful candidate will be under the guidance of the Technical Finance Manager, actively contributing to the accomplishment of the Technical Team's overarching goals and assigned tasks. Close collaboration with other team members ensures the seamless execution of its collective objectives and responsibilities.

Minimum requirements:

Hold a degree in commerce, business, accounting, or IT.
Possess experience in systems development and proficiency in finance systems.
Demonstrate broad expertise and knowledge of accounting systems.
Have hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly Sage300.
Exhibit a track record of working in both project and Business As Usual (BAU) environments.
Experience in the property industry is advantageous.
Ability to collaborate effectively and provide training to other finance staff.
Possess advanced computer software skills, including expertise in Excel macros.

Exhibit leadership qualities with the ability to lead and supervise a team effectively.

The Following will be expected from the successful candidate:

Provide day-to-day systems support and resolve issues promptly.
Collaborate with the Technical Finance Manager to oversee, manage, review, and challenge all relevant financial and non-financial systems, actively seeking opportunities for cross-divisional efficiency.
Configure systems access for the Group to optimize controls.
Lead and support project teams in the implementation of new systems and updates to existing ones.
Conduct thorough testing of internal processes and procedures, documenting them upon approval.
Deliver comprehensive system training for both finance and non-financial staff, covering core transactional and ancillary processes (e.g., AP/AR, CRM, etc.).
Operate core finance control processes within the systems.
Review current systems/interfaces, forms, and procedures, proposing streamlined solutions to reduce manual intervention.
Assist the Technical Finance Manager in ensuring internal controls within the Group are fit for purpose, enforcing, measuring, monitoring, and improving them where necessary.
Collaborate with the CFO and Financial Managers to design and develop both internal and external management reports for enhanced business insights.
Ensure the integrity of supplier payment runs and conduct necessary investigations.
Maintain accurate records, filing, and an audit trail of all activities undertaken.
Liaise with external stakeholders as needed, including internal and external auditors and system developers.
Provide additional and ad hoc financial support and analysis as required.
