We are looking for an Intermediate or Senior Planner to join our growing team of planners, engineers, and surveyors in Wellington, Christchurch or Queenstown. As a key member of our planning team, you will:

Lead with Vision: Bring your innovative ideas to the forefront as you lead planning projects that redefine urban landscapes and shape communities for generations to come.
Cultivate Client Relationships: Foster meaningful partnerships with clients and stakeholders, understanding their unique needs, and delivering tailor-made solutions that exceed expectations.
Champion Sustainable Solutions: Play a pivotal role in advocating for environmentally conscious practices, creating a legacy of responsible and sustainable urban development.

You'll ideally have a minimum of two to five years' experience and be a member of the New Zealand Planning Institute or be eligible for membership and working towards it. You'll have a proven ability to manage client relationships, provide professional expertise and lead projects. You will also have a history in resource consenting, policy planning and feasibility studies. You're personable and outgoing, and enjoy working in a friendly, collaborative environment full of solutions-focused colleagues.
You'll have an excellent understanding of resource management issues and New Zealand Resource Management Act legislation with experience of working with various regional and district plans. You have outstanding written and verbal communication and you're self-motivated and ambitious. You enjoy working in a smaller, friendly, and collaborative environment with solutions-focused colleagues.
How you'll spend your time
As an Intermediate or Senior Planner, you'll be a key part of our National Planning team. We have a wide variety of work for you to get stuck into, including leading projects for Urban development, environmental, and regional consent-based work. Ideally, you'll have business development skills, as there will be opportunities to work directly with clients, growing and developing networks within the region, and bring new business to HG. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor and guide the more junior members of the planning team.
